What I Checked Out.

This week's theme: Judging books by their cover.

It's true, you can't always judge a book by it's cover, but those covers certainly can make you pick a book up. Here are a few things from the week that I couldn't resist. I really hope there are a few graphic designers out there eating well tonight.

First up, we have Creative is a Verb: If You're Alive, You're Creative. by Patti Digh. The cover of this one didn't catch me a much as that title alone did. Sometimes I just forget that I'm really creative! There is a poem on the inside page that I would love to get tattooed on my forearm, just so that I can say it to myself everyday:
When I say be creative,
I don't mean
you should all go
and become great painters
and great poets.

I simply mean
let your life
be a painting
and let your life
be a poem.

- Osho

I also like that poem because it reminds me of my BFF Lara. She really loves Osho, and she is the most creative person I know. I mean, seriously. Who the hell else would come up with a pulled fruit sandwich?
This is something I am definitly going to read during my bachelorette days sad, lonely times while Ryan is away. I'm going to need all the inspiration I can get!
And then, Revenge of the Radioactive Lady by Elizabeth Stuckey-French. I really did pick this one up because of it's cover. I have no idea what it's about. I'll let you know!
And Doughnuts by Lara Ferroni. No, not the same Lara as my BFF, but there must be something about Lara's and delicious treats, because look at that cover!
Doughnuts are one of those things that I've always considered best left to professionals, but Ms. Ferroni makes it sound easy!

 Banana Bread doughnuts? Yes, please!
And there you have it!
